We’re delighted to announce that NADS’s December production has been chosen — and we’re returning to one of our great traditions - a good old-fashioned farce.
Our December play will be First Things First by Derek Benfield, a comedy packed with misunderstandings, complications, outrageous situations and the sort of problems that seem to get considerably worse every time someone tries to solve them. When one wife is complicated… two wives are a disaster! Pete and George are old friends — very old friends, in fact. George has even been Pete’s best man at both of his weddings. Pete is now happily married to Sarah and thinks life is nicely settled. That is, until George arrives with some rather astonishing news: Pete’s first wife, Jessica, who everyone believed had been killed in a climbing accident, is actually alive and well — and wants her husband back. What follows is an attempt by Pete and George to keep everyone happy and, more importantly, keep Pete out of trouble. With two wives, one increasingly desperate husband, an interfering mother-in-law and a growing number of secrets and misunderstandings, things are guaranteed to become complicated very quickly. A new director for NADS We’re pleased that Deborah Trevatt will be directing the production. Deborah is new to directing at NADS, and we’re delighted to welcome her into the director’s chair. We’re sure Deborah will bring her own energy, ideas and sense of fun to this classic farce — and we’re looking forward to seeing it all come together over the coming months. We’re always looking for enthusiastic people to join our crew and help behind the scenes — whether that’s helping with sets, props, costumes, lighting, sound or the many other jobs that make a production come together. Another NADS production has come to an end, and what a great couple of evenings it has been. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our 1940s Murder Mystery and joined in the fun.
