Some of Our Favourite Past Plays

The Hound of the Baskervilles
December 2025
Picture
Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and adapted for stage by Steven Canny and John Nicolson
Directed by Allison Potter-Drake
A NADS production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books

About the play
A wildly inventive and fast-paced spoof, The Hound of the Baskervilles brought the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery to life with a riot of theatrical ingenuity and comedy. With a small cast playing a multitude of eccentric characters, the story hurtled across Dartmoor through clever staging, quick costume changes, and plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour. Audiences enjoyed larger-than-life performances, playful storytelling, and a delightfully absurd take on one of literature’s most famous detective tales.
