Newick Amateur Dramatic Society (NADS) is a friendly community theatre group based in the picturesque village of Newick, East Sussex. We stage two main productions each year in May and December, performed in the welcoming surroundings of Newick Village Hall. Founded in 1929 by local nurseryman Lionel Cox, NADS has a long and proud theatrical history. The Village Hall itself was originally built as a theatre in 1932, where the legendary Sir Dirk Bogarde made his acting debut. He later becoming Honorary President of the society. Today NADS is run by around 30 enthusiastic volunteers who share a love of theatre and community. From acting and directing to set building and front-of-house, it’s a true team effort that brings our productions to life. If you are interested in knowing more about NADS, or would like to join our mailing list, please click here. When you come to a NADS show you can expect a warm welcome, a licensed bar, and a great night of local theatre. Take a look around the website to see photos from past productions, details of upcoming shows, and ways to get involved. Watch this space to find our about our next production. We're proud to be members of NODA. |
